Before trying this shampoo bar, I tried a castile soap bar as shampoo. This shampoo works way better than the castile soap bar but is still not great.

Pros:

- doesn't leave a residue

- lathers well

- good for travel especially if you need to limit liquids on a flight

Cons:

- it made my hair feel much drier and frizzier than regular shampoo

- the bar is hard to work with compared to liquid shampoo

- it can be hard to rinse out if you don't have good water pressure

- smell is okay but not great

I don't use this on a regular basis. Only if I'm traveling and need to minimize liquids or space.

To be honest I wasn’t sure I was going to love using a shampoo bar. And for the first few uses, I didn’t. My hair needed a little time to adjust and I had to get used to the slight difference while washing but once acclimated, I fell in love! It works well, lathers up nicely, my hair feels clean and smooth after a wash and I think it may even be helping my hair grow but that’s hard to prove. I ordered my products on April 5th and wash my hair twice a week. I am still using the same shampoo bar and it is July 4th now, so it does last a while if you take good care to cover it up after every use and not let water get in the tin. I’ll definitely keep buying!

On another note, my hands are so sensitive to soaps and I have a hard time finding a shampoo that doesn’t irritate my hands, the one I was previously using stopped being produced so I am very thankful that this shampoo bar is not harmful to my hands.

Also, it is easy to travel with! No spilling, no big containers or transferring shampoo to travel bottles, it’s just ready to go!
